Gospel Choir sings songs of praise
“Let everything that breathes sing praises to the LORD! Praise the LORD!”
The LOC United Voices Gospel Choir sang songs of praise during its “Evening of Worship” concert, Oct. 19 in the Little Theatre.
The choir performed several fiery songs, including “Waymaker”, “Total Praise”, and the choir’s signature song, “Reflections”. This song encouraged overcoming trials and tribulations and choir members repeated the words:
“When the music stops, we still have to pray and when the tears would drop, we still kept the faith.”
Following a “praise break,” Jean Saulsberry, LOC Gospel Choir adviser for 21 years, sang “What is This?”
In spite of the heat, the audience raised hands and responded to the music throughout the evening.
The LOC United Voices Gospel Choir was organized in 1998 by Grammy nominated artist O’Landa Draper and continues to spread the word through song each year as new students join the LOC family. “Reflections” was written by Draper.
